75th Annual Kannapolis Christmas Parade of Lights

Well into the sixties, the Kannapolis Christmas parade was held on Tuesday afternoons when Kannapolis’ businesses were closed.  Parade Marshals were chosen from the local business community and for their leadership and contributions to the city.  The parade traveled north on Main Street and was viewed by thousands.

As time progressed the parade became the responsibility of Cabarrus Events Association, a non profit, volunteer organization which also hosts Village Fest, Kannapolis Cruise In, and the Concord Christmas Parade.

Change is inevitable, but some traditions remain.  Although the parade is now held on the Saturday in December and is at night, Parade Marshals are still chosen for their contributions to our community. The parade travels north on Main from Dale Earnhardt Blvd, turns left on First Street and left on West Ave. And to our delight, the parade is still viewed by thousands.

Cabarrus Events Association is proud to host the Kannapolis Christmas parade. On these pages you will find all the information needed to enter and contribute to this annual Holiday event.

Thank you for participating in this year’s event.
